Other than your current job, what other job in the entertainment industry do you dream of doing?

Someday I would like to be an editor for a feature film. One of the reasons that I like movies is the way they can affect the person watching them, either emotionally or even occasionally physically. The editor of the film is a big part of creating this experience. They decide which takes work the best together and how fast they should be cut together, what angles to use, etc. A film and all of its raw footage are like is like a big puzzle that the editor gets to create so that the audience can put it together while they are watching it.... read more

I worked on a documentary about the political situation in Cambodia. I transcribed interviews, inserted subtitles, did some graphic design, and basic video editing. I also set up interviews, made contacts, and recruited other people for the project.

As a temporary employee, I was able to work at a couple of different jobs over the summer. From June to July I was an Order Entry Clerk for ACN, a telecommunications company. I provided customer service, developed internet research skills, improved my problem solving skills and patience. From July through August, I worked in the City of Marquette's Parks and Recreations Department where I was the Recreation Services Executive Assistant. As a writer for the Click on the Arts website I set up and conducted interviews with faculty, staff, and students, transcribed interviews and used them to write articles for the website. I also learned how to work independently under a deadline.
