What are the top three things affecting our industry today?

1. Over-saturation of anything and everything - Can anyone say "dishonest art and entertainment"?

2. Events - I haven't read a comic from DC or Marvel for a long time because there were just too many event-driven stories that I didn't care about as a reader. Maybe if I was a collector...

3. Marketing - comics aren't just for kids, manga and anime aren't just for perverts or teens, comic movies aren't just for geeks, music isn't just for people too lazy to listen to anything except the radio, and some people don't want to be reminded of the movie version of the book they're reading (so please stop putting pictures of the actors on the cover...).... read more
