Fox Sports Net - South
Chief Engineer

Fox Sports Net - South is seeking a Chief Engineer to be responsible for all engineering functions supporting production, post-production, and event broadcasts for two regional sports networks. This position is located in Atlanta, GA

Responsibilities:
* This position will be responsible for direct supervision of Engineering Department, including participating in the hiring process, training (as necessary) all engineering & free-lance engineering/maintenance personnel.
* Manage all aspects of the technical production and transmission of live/taped programs and events
* Working with SVP/GM, Production and other Depts., provide technical & engineering leadership/support in regards to complex transmission distribution of satellite, fiber and PLN & microwave interconnect signals, ensuring all content is properly transmitted for broadcast.
* Proactively troubleshoot, diagnose & correct technical problems; solves them with effective and timely alternatives and documents/recommends/executes necessary corrective actions.

Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years broadcast engineering experience in a television production environment
* BS degree or equivalent in Engineering focused on electronics or broadcast equipment preferred
* Experience in both video tape and file-based work environment; networking skills are desired
* Experience in a High-Definition production facility desired
* Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey ideas and concepts to support management business objectives are essential
* Must be knowledgeable in all areas of technical production, and familiar with all production equipment
* Must be willing to update skills and knowledge to keep pace with changing technology
* Must be able to provide strong technical leadership
* Reasonable mathematical skills required; superior reasoning skills are essential
* Must be available to work Monday through Friday and occasional evening and weekend shifts depending on business needs
