SPEED Channel
Media Manager

SPEED Channel is seeking a Media Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the tape vault and media inventory (5 direct reports) for all programs/resources to meet client needs. This position is located in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Responsibilities:
* Provide support to internal clients requesting materials to be used for the production and /or promotion of SPEED programming

* Responsible for receiving and distributing program information, as well as maintaining an up-to-date catalog of all in-coming and out-going programming

* Develops and maintains file naming conventions for all electronically created content

* Manages archiving, retrieval and purge process for file-based content

* Coordinate with production teams to make this media and information accessible to production environments including newsroom, graphics, editorial as well as studio and remote production sites.

* Monitors overall daily workflow to ensure departmental efficiency and productivity

* Create the weekly staff schedule in order to track and accommodate vacations, floating holidays, sick days, and other schedule variations.

* Trains new employees and updated current staff on changes in duties and procedures

* Oversees the Vault shelving system for tracking accuracy and maximum use of space and proper coordination of tape movements to off-site storage facilities

* Partner with Transmission/Ingest team to schedule and support the ingest of incoming programs as well as perform dubbing and standards conversion as needed

* Monitor tape inserts into the inventory database system on a daily basis in order to correct mistakes and ensure accuracy; oversee the monthly material-inventory and stock orders.

* Performs various special projects as assigned

Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field is desired by not required.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a fast-paced corporate or production environment required. Previous tape vault is highly preferred.
* Experience with media cataloging database programs is required; knowledge of NESBIT or a comparable system is helpful
* An overall knowledge of basic television production/broadcast operations is highly preferred
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook is required
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
* Must possess superior customer service skills and attention to detail
* Exceptional organizational, follow-up and record keeping skills are required
* Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while multitasking and under daily time constraints
