How would you describe your time at Serenitas Media?

I founded Serenitas Pictures -- later to become Serenitas Media -- to create character-driven films and T.V. product in various genres: Esmee Dracula (2005) is the first result; this high-definition short tells of the confrontation between a B-movie producer and a middle-aged actress who claims to be a real vampire. ...I have also attached L.A.-based director Claudia Hoover to Logicide, a sort of Romeo and Juliet in the snow that examines the ability of a New Hampshire teen to follow his pacifist beliefs. Ms. Hoover guided Oscar winners Shelley Winters and Charlton Heston, in her film Gideon. Logicide has been chosen for the script section of the IFP Market in New York.

A second script, New York Hoffman, takes place in the contemporary fashion world. The bizarre moral tale is based on a 200-year-old story by E.T.A. Hoffman, and has been well-received at Wim Wenders' company in Berlin. ...A final script, The Blood Spatter Expert, is the story of a New Hampshire police detective who loses his son by drowning during a hockey game. The next summer, while the detective investigates the murder of another, six-year-old boy, he travels to New York to consult with a beautiful albino forensic expert specialized in blood evidence. Together, the couple solve the mystery as they move from motel bed to motel bed, during a sex-and-alcohol binge that takes them northward, back to the scene of the crime.

Tilda Swinton has read The Blood Spatter Expert and loved it; she may be attachable to the title role, pending further packaging.

In late 2006, I collaborated with Dr. Jon Swift on a television series format. Dr. Swift works closely with the NYPD -- the format includes characters, story arcs, treatment of the pilot episode, and further episode synopses... To sum up the series in a few words, it's where the worlds of medicine and police procedurals meet. The series format was considered for all of 2007 by a legendary L.A. producer, but is now available again...

Serenitas is also venturing into theatre, with the production of two plays at the East Village's famous Theater for the New City, in June, 2008. On the same bill are Crother Spyglass, my own intense drama about a Gulf War veteran working on Madison Avenue; and The Resistible Rise of Fatlinda Paloka, Marcy Wallabout's dark comedy about an Albanian immigrant who addicts the town of Greenville, Georgia, to her very special pizza. (Tix available through SmartTix.)

Serenitas Media now has three divisions: Serenitas Pictures, Serenitas Publishing, and Serenitas Theatre.
