I'm one of the three co-owners of this independent San Diego bookstore, which specializes in mystery, science fiction, fantasy, horror and suspense.

I was the first VP of marketing for WildStorm Productions, and helped expand it from a small boutique publisher to a major that was acquired by DC Comics (a Time Warner company).

How would you describe your time at Self-Employed?
I'm an award-winning freelance writer, the author of more than thirty novels, dozens of comic books, and a handful of short stories and nonfiction books. My novels include RIVER RUNS RED, MISSING WHITE GIRL, the WITCH SEASON quartet, THE SLAB, and licensed fiction based on a variety of TV shows and comic book properties. My comics include PRESIDENTIAL MATERIAL: BARACK OBAMA, DESPERADOES and GRAVESLINGER, among many others. The next release will be original graphic novel ZOMBIE COP in January 2009. I've also written for DVD and online games....

I was a TV/Film major, with a minor in English/writing. I won a prestigious literary award and was published in on-campus and off-campus periodicals.
