      <description>I learned that you need to take the initiative to teach yourself.  A person can only be taught so much about recording, engineering, mixing, etc.  You really need to spend your spare time outside of class at an internship or in a studio.
I also learned that I have to rely on my ears.  It is possible to develop a "better ear" the more that you practice actively listening and identifying sounds.</description>
