Well, the Silver Pass was nice; it got me into all the parks for free! Actually, the best thing about workin for WDC was even though they are a big corporation, they are willing to take risks and adventures into new technology.

I grew up in the area. When I was in high school I applied for a job in Foods at the Disneyland Resort. Less than a year later I found myself transferring to the wonderful world of Entertainment, where I worked in the Character Department as a performer, and later as a department Lead until June of 2006. It was then that I accepted a unique position as an Assistant Project Controller in the Entertainment Division. It was the perfect way for me to gain experience in entertainment finance and accounting while I was finishing my degree.

In this role I was responsible for building budgets, tracking spend, computing and researching variances between plan and actuals, performing ad hoc requests, monitoring commitments, processing journal entries, and working with multiple departments to asure we put forth the best shows possible in our parks.

I have been with the resort for nearly six years, and while I am sad to leave this place I am very excited to apply my education and work experience in a field I have always been passionate about: entertainment.

I would advise a new Cast Member to have fun, and embrace change. If there is one thing I have learned working for the Disney Company it is that things change all the time, and you have to roll with the punches. Some changes are subtle, and some may directly affect you. Either way you have to be ready to adapt and keep moving forward. This is especially true in entertainment, where I have learned that plans can change drastically in a matter of minutes.
