Your Interview and You:
A Lesson In Verbal Relations

- Be informed.
Ignorance is not bliss. Educate yourself about the company you're interviewing with before the interview.

- Be snazzy.
You only get to make a first impression once. Unless you believe in reincarnation. Either way, dress to impress.

- Be punctual.
90% of success in life is showing up. Five extra percentage points go to those that show up early.

- Be prepared.
Bring resume copies along with other materials like a reel, portfolio, references, etc. Gather all the ammo you can to go occupational Rambo on that interviewer.

- Be comfortable.
Your interviewer is a regular human being, just like you, not a robot sent from the future to stop the resistance. There's no need to be scared.

- Be engaged.
Pay attention to what your interviewer is saying. Make eye contact. Ask questions. Think of it like a date, except the other person wields significant power over you.

- Be positive.
Upbeat and enthusiastic is the order of the day. Don't be a Negative Nancy or Fatalistic Phil.

- Be excited.
This is your shot at the big time. Act like it. Even if it's small or medium time, act like it's big time.

- Be in touch.
Get the interviewer's contact info. Make sure he/she has yours. Don't go in for a kiss afterwards.

- Be at peace.
For you just kicked some major ass in that interview, grasshopper.
